Licence
One buyer, one shop: stitch the designs on to items you make and sell them, but the files themselves are never passed on.

One price, bought once. The owner's tax position is not settled yet, so no tax is stated and no registration number is shown; the figure above is the figure asked for.

This collection is in preparation

The designs below are the specification the files are drawn to and checked against: the hoop sizes, the conversion to each machine format and a test stitch-out are all worked through before the collection goes on sale. Card payment is not connected yet: every collection is still being checked against its specification, and nothing is charged for a collection that is not finished. Orders can be set down by email in the meantime.

Ask to be written to when it is ready: support@monograms.live

One alphabet, drawn as a plain transitional serif with a firm bracket and an even stroke, and cut at three heights rather than scaled from one. A letter drawn at 40 mm is not the 120 mm letter shrunk: the serifs and the stroke are redrawn so the small size stays open when it is stitched.

Made for the ordinary uses of a monogram: an initial on a shirt pocket, three letters on a towel, a name inside a coat. Set two or three letters side by side and the spacing holds without adjustment.

Every design in the collection

What the download contains

  • The machine files. Every design in PES, DST, JEF, EXP, kept in a folder for each format so a machine only ever sees the files it can read.
  • The PDF stitch guide. The stitched size of each design, the order the colours go in, the stabiliser the collection is drawn for and the cloth it is drafted against.
  • The licence. The same wording as below, as a file you keep with the designs.

A download link stays live for 30 days from the order and can be used up to 5 times. Nothing is posted: there is no physical item in this order.

Stitching it

Stitch types
Satin stroke with a walking underlay, drawn for clean edges on towelling.
Drawn for
  • Towelling and waffle cloth
  • Shirting and poplin
  • Bed linen and pillow slips
Hoop
The largest design in the collection needs a 130 × 180 mm field. A larger hoop stitches it as well; a smaller one will not.
What it does not do
  • Capitals only: there are no lower-case letters, numerals or punctuation in this collection.

The licence

Stitch and sell the finished items. The files stay with you. One buyer, one shop. Buying a collection buys a licence to use the designs; it does not transfer ownership of them. The designs and the files stay the owner's, and the licence is personal to you and to the business you trade as.

What you may do
  • Stitch the designs on to items you make yourself and sell them, online or in person, with no limit on how many finished items you stitch.
  • Use the designs on items you make as gifts, or for your own household.
  • Keep your own working copies of the files on the machines and computers you use.
  • Photograph your own stitched items and use the photographs to sell them.
What you may not do
  • Passing on, sharing, selling, swapping or publishing the stitch files or the PDF guide, whether on their own or inside another product.
  • Selling the designs as digital files in any form, including as part of a bundle, a subscription or a membership.
  • Converting a design to another format and offering that conversion to anybody else.
  • Claiming the designs as your own artwork, or registering them as a trade mark.
  • Using the designs as artwork for print - on paper, transfers or screens - rather than as stitching.

The licence is set out again in the Terms of Service, and the two say the same thing.

Drawn to sit beside it

A suggestion, and nothing more: each of these carries its own button, and nothing joins your basket because Classic Serif Monograms is in it.
